Description
The event in Encanto is organized by The Mental Bar, Black San Diego, and Pillars of the Community.
Daygo Eatz will transform nine blocks of the Encanto neighborhood and spill into Marie Widman Memorial Park. The event aims to uplift local businesses and artists. Organizers want to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the community and offer a platform for local businesses and artists to highlight their products or talents.
The multi-block street fair will have local vendors, an art walk and live entertainment. Health and wellness is also on the forefronts of organizers minds.
"At its core, Daygo Eatz is about activating our community, fostering connections, and supporting our small, local businesses," said Tommy Walker, owner of The Mental Bar. "Encanto has faced challenges, including recent devastating floods, but through events like this, we come together to rebuild, celebrate, and uplift one another."
Two prominent health-focused groups, Movement Matters Collective and Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. will host activities in Marie Widman Memorial Park, emphasizing the importance of holistic well-being within the community.
The event is also a tribute to Black History Month.
When: Sunday. February 18.
Where: 61st and Imperial to 69th and Imperial Ave in the Encanto neighborhood.
