Description
The National Weather Service in San Diego issued a Tornado Warning for southcentral San Diego County late Tuesday morning. The warning expired at 12:15 p.m.
At 11:44 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Paradise Hills or near Chula Vista.
According to the National Weather Service, locations that were impacted included: Chula Vista, El Cajon, National City, La Mesa, Tierrasanta, Santee, Lemon Grove, Encanto, Rancho San Diego, La Presa, Paradise Hills, Lincoln Park, College East, Lake Murray, Spring Valley, Rolando, Crest, Lakeside, Bonita and Mountain View.
When a Tornado Warning is issued, the National Weather Service advises to take cover, move to a basement or interior room or the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. If needed, move to the closest substantial shelter.
