Description
A Mira Mesa woman took CBS 8 inside her apartment home, after water from nearby fire hydrant gushed inside and flooded it.
This all happened near the corner of Maya Linda Road and Gold Coast Drive, just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Rosalie Tatuin and 11 neighbors, including five children, woke up to the surprise of water at their doors.
"I heard like a bang," Rosalie explained. "...Most of the time I hear some brakes or something, and then after two minutes like a shower..."
It wasn't a storm, rather a chain reaction a car crash kicked off. San Diego Fire Department officials say the crash sent one of the cars straight toward a fire hydrant, knocking it down. That left water gushing into the air, down an embankment, and into the apartments below.
