Description
An important conversation about fentanyl took place at a middle school in San Ysidro Thursday night.
It focused on educating parents, students and the community about the dangers of fentanyl and overdoses.
“Kids can get their hands on it very easily," said parents, Maritza Torres.
Dozens of families gathered at San Ysidro Middle School to learn more about the deadly consequences of fentanyl and how the synthetic opioid is impacting communities across the county.
“It was extremely informative, and I believe no matter the age parents should be very open with their kids," added Torres.
Students and their parents heard from district staff, San Diego police and San Diego County District Attorney, Summer Stephan, who says city leaders and officials have a responsibility to combat fentanyl trafficking.
