Description
A group of San Diegans are already hitting their fitness goals before they kick off the New Year at Mission Bay.
"Today is volleyball day! It was raining and so now we are trying to get cardio in before New Years," said Trevor Jay, volleyball player.
"We're playing volleyball in cold weather," laughs volleyball player, Carrie Buckley.
Off the sand and onto the streets of downtown San Diego, service industry workers are gearing up for a big New Year’s Eve celebration.
"New Years is the pinnacle holiday downtown. It’s the one day where locals will come downtown. We get tourists and locals alike. Our second busiest day since Comic-Con, New Year's Eve is our big holiday," said Josh Smith, General Manager of Watergrill San Diego.
At Watergrill, they're getting ready for the night by skillfully shucking lobsters and preparing a lineup of appetizers and delectable desserts while adorning the venue with New Year's Eve décor.
They have a specially curated four-course meal with perfectly paired wines at their event and there's still a chance to snag tickets before the clock strikes midnight.
