Description
Heavy rain is set to drench San Diego County as a storm system arrives overnight through Friday morning. This Winter storm will also bring us a chance for thunderstorms, gusty south winds, and cooler temperatures.
After a day of sunshine, the storm clouds are starting to roll in. We have a chance for scattered showers before the heavier rain moves in. By Thursday afternoon, the low was sitting approximately 200 miles to the west of San Diego.
As it moves east, the bulk of the moisture is slated to hit San Diego County's coastal areas after 10:00 p.m. Thursday. There was rain detected in Oceanside and Camp Pendleton this evening. But, due to the counterclockwise circulation of this storm, the rain will move in from the south to the north (impacting the coast first) with countywide coverage during that period of heavy rain overnight through Friday morning period.
