CEO Monte Jones joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share more about their mission. “Our families our struggling, 40% of our families live below the poverty line,” said Jones. “They might have two or three jobs and it’s just not enough money to survive. We help them by providing those resources. Logan Heights CDC is trying to give a hand up and make our residents and our community as resilient as they want to be.” Logan Heights CDC helps thousands of San Diegans each year through their preschool, youth services, career and financial advancement center, as well as small business development. Now, thanks to a $250,000 grant from SDG&E’s Community Assistance Fund, the nonprofit will be able to provide direct rental assistance to local residents at risk of eviction.
