The San Diego Police are investigating several take-over style armed robberies over the last six weeks in multiple locations across the city. SDPD is greatly concerned by these crimes not only for the theft of property but for the potential for violence and loss of life. Police said that these incidents occurred at convenience stores, typically later in the evening hours. The suspects have been described as young males wearing hoodies and masks. SDPD said the suspects entered the businesses in groups of one to four, brandishing firearms at the clerk and demanding money as well as items from the store. In some incidents, police said the suspects took entire cash drawers and registers.
