Description
Two small children were killed Friday evening after a vehicle police were pursuing crashed into another car, San Diego Police confirmed.
The pursuit started around 6:14 p.m. at 32nd Street and Oceanview Boulevard in the Logan Heights neighborhood. Police followed the suspect to Interstate 805 southbound. As he tried to exit onto 43rd Street, he crashed into another car. He soon abandoned the car and fled the scene. The driver is now in custody.
The car the suspect collided with burst into flames and ended up in a valley, police said. The two children and two adult women who were in the vehicle the suspect crashed into were transported to the hospital.
A SigAlert was issued after the crash around 6:43 p.m. in the Mountain View area. It is unclear how long it will remain in effect.
