The shooting death of Ashli Babbit at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 will now be the central focus of an upcoming biopic in which some filming takes place in San Diego. On Jan. 6, a mob of rioters rushed the Capitol to protest the results of the 2020 Presidential election and obstruct Congress' certification. As seen in a video, 35-year-old Babbit attempted to climb through a broken window toward the House Chamber before she was shot by a Capitol police officer.
