Description
The 22nd anniversary of Fleet Week San Diego is bringing thousands of people to the embarcadero.
There's several activities planned for the weekend. Attendees can enjoy a military and veterans art show, ship tours, search rescue demonstrations and more. With new and returning features, its an experience many people don't want to miss.
"It’s like this every year, sometimes it's even more crowded," Veteran Mark Nesbit said.
San Diegans thinking of attending Fleet Week this weekend should plan ahead to save time.
"Especially when they have something like this then it's hard to find a parking spot," Nesbit said.
While many people waited to find a parking spot Friday, others opted to get dropped off and some were able to go on foot.
"Yeah luckily I live nearby so I was able to just walk," Olivia Brown said.
Last year, about 20,000 people attended Fleet Week. San Diego Fleet Week Foundation President and CEO, Larry Blumberg said this weekend may expect a larger crowd.
