Nassau Paradise Island is a destination known for its white, sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. The Caribbean slice of paradise is launching its first-ever nonstop service from Los Angeles to Nassau this November, making it easier than ever for San Diegans craving a tropical vacation to hop on a quick flight to the Bahamas. Joy Jibrilu, CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, joins our Laura Cavanaugh to give you an inside look at all that’s happening and all this popular island destination has to offer.
November marks a milestone for the Islands of the Bahamas. Jet Blue has added new direct flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Nassau. With the strong demand by travelers to explore leisure destinations, Alaska Airlines also announced new international routes, adding nonstop service from two of their West Coast Hubs starting in mid-December. Alaska Air is adding its first-ever flights to the Bahamas with nonstop service from both Los Angeles to Nassau and Seattle to Nassau. The new direct service will simplify travel between the two coasts, enhancing accessibility to the Caribbean paradise.
“It shows how desired and how much people are thinking of a great tropical vacation and especially to a destination that is going to surprise people because it’s so much closer than you can imagine,” said Jibrilu.
Visitors can experience adventures that are out of this world, from relaxing along miles of sandy white beaches to scuba diving, deep sea fishing and golf. Travelers can also take a step back in time to explore Nassau Paradise Island’s rich history, art and culture. You’ll see influences from African, Caribbean and British cultures.
Nassau and Paradise Island are also becoming known as culinary powerhouses to foodies. The fun doesn’t end when the sun sets in Paradise. Visitors can enjoy dancing, cocktails and views from a rooftop bar. And they can try their luck at two of the Caribbean’s largest casinos. Discover why the locals and visitors alike always say “It’s Better in the Bahamas.”
