The event will take place at the entrance plaza of the park's 12 luxury apartments (100 Park Plaza, San Diego), across from Petco Park. Taking place on Veterans Day weekend, East Village Salutes! is dedicated to honoring veterans and underscoring the remarkable contributions they continue to make within our downtown community. The event will not only pay homage to our heroes but will also highlight the thriving veteran-owned businesses in the area. Attendees can look forward to a street festival-style atmosphere with activities for all ages. The free event will feature a variety of attractions, including live musical performances, and family-friendly activities that promise fun for all ages. The renowned San Diego Marine Band’s brass band will be a highlight you won’t want to miss. The YMCA Armed Services will be hosting a kids' activations including a 'Letters to Veterans' station. The celebration will honor the armed forces and feature a variety of veteran-owned business vendor booths like Hey Sugar!, Savage Bee-Ches, Her Lips LLC and more. After her 20-year career in the military, Chan Buie began a successful dessert distribution business called Hey Sugar! that sells her famous southern cake jars, banana puddings, and other desserts to hotels, restaurants, and caterers.
