An altruistic comedic mission fueled by playing the race card as the joker in the deck inspired the show’s creator, Jason Rogers. Jason’s unique American upbringing as an adopted Korean kid in Mr. Roger’s white picket fence neighborhood gave him a distinctive “slant” on life, now put to hilarious use in his stand-up routines. The self-proclaimed “Caucasian Asian” put it this way, “I created the show to incorporate all kinds of comedians. I wanted to stay away from an all Asian, white, black, purple, blue themed show.” Bringing the community together through laughter is the motivating force behind American Me Comedy and co-producer, Stefani Von Huben, who have teamed up to combine the best stand-up comedy with genuine, grassroots fundraising efforts. The result has been a feel-good frivolity at its philanthropic finest. Along with their humanitarian efforts, Rogers and Von Huben are seriously serious about their commitment to comedic excellence, featuring the biggest names in comedy and giving artists an outlet and an opportunity to voice their creative gift, while serving as a medium to connect their voices with organizations for a greater good! American Me Comedy aspires to collaborate with major sponsors, non-profits and charities throughout the world to help “stand up” with their comedy for a cause. When Rogers and Von Huben joined forces, Von Huben became American Me Comedy’s foot hold into connecting with the local San Diego community. Von Huben is the boots on the ground throughout San Diego who has helped American Me Comedy gain local notoriety, while building a strong fan base beyond San Diego to now the hottest clubs across the country. For their special benefit shows, American Me Comedy takes comedy to a different level by blending the top comedians with unique voices of organizations throughout San Diego. When people come together and experience laughter, a special joy is felt.
