Description
The Del Mar Fairgrounds says it’s stepping up its efforts to improve water runoff.
On Wednesday the 22nd District Agricultural Association debuted its $15 million water quality initiative.
This project started in 2017 and is a functional storm water retention and treatment system.
The fair says it’s a multi-step water treatment facility that includes a retention lake located within the racetrack infield, a constructed biological wetland designed to naturally filter water and a treatment and testing center.
This will help keep contaminated water from polluting nearby oceans and lagoons.
