Description
It's the night before Halloween and more than 52 plant figures remain to be seen!
"It's like looking at clouds. You know how you see something different? And you may think, 'oh that looks like an elephant!" said artist Edna Harper.
What do you see? Bunnies, elephants, and whales, oh my!
That’s what keeps a Middle Town garden in San Diego alive.
"You are looking at my creation of a topiary garden," said Harper.
Around the neighborhood, they call her "Edna Scissorhands" as a nickname; and since then her plants have never been the same.
"They are cape honeysuckles. It's a vine," she says.
Today, she has her gardener Pedro Duran trim each figure, one at a time.
"I'm not the Scissorhands anymore," Harper laughs. " I just drew it."
