The San Diego Architectural Foundation has just given out its Orchid and Onion Awards and in Balboa Park, the San Diego Automotive Museum is a recipient of the Orchid award. The museum is being honored for its restoration and murals. Howard Blackson is an Urban Designer and has been a member of the San Diego Architectural Foundation for over a decade. "So, the murals here are actually showing the idea of industry as well as an idyllic Spanish community by the Coast. You can really see the details in the murals from the 1930'sthe WPA, the 1935 era," Blackson said. Which is why the San Diego Automotive Museum is an Orchid.
