San Diego Fire Department responded to a commercial fire in East Village on 640 16th St around 9:25 Monday night during the Labor Day holiday. They worked quickly to stop the second alarm fire, officials said. Many of the second alarm crews have been released, leaving a smaller remaining crew to finish clearing the scene.
