High heat returns to start the week, with temperatures expected to peak on Tuesday. The marine layer is shallow on Monday, with the expectation of plenty of sunshine and only a few passing clouds with the hottest temperatures being felt east of the coast. The ridge of high pressure will gradually travel east this week, prompting a gradual cool down from the middle of this week through early next week.
