Powerhouse chefs & restaurateurs join forces to fight antisemitism & stop hate
Chef Collaboration Charitable Dinner at Gold Finch Delicatessen Will Benefit the Anti-Defamation League with a Modern Jewish Prix Fixe Menu
Since opening its doors last September, Gold Finch modern delicatessen has helped to fill a void in Jewish-inspired culinary options in San Diego.
The restaurant draws on owner Tracy Borkum’s (of Urban Kitchen Group) ancestral roots while recontextualizing staples of Ashkenazi and Sephardic-style cooking.
On Wednesday, June 28th, Gold Finch will host its inaugural Fête & Feast Chef Collaboration Dinner.
A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit ADL, the world’s leading anti-hate organization, founded in 1913, which continues to fight all forms of antisemitism and bias using innovation and partnerships to drive impact.
Jewish leaders of San Diego’s hospitality community including powerhouse chefs Giselle Wellman, Matt Gordon, and Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien will join Borkum and Gold Finch’s culinary team, Chef/Partner Tim Kolanko and Executive Chef Jeff Armstrong, to offer a four-course, prix-fixe dinner that translates Jewish culinary traditions through a modern lens.
Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with complimentary sparkling cider from beverage partner Bivouac Ciderworks and may purchase additional wine pairings by the glass.
The dinner is priced at $85 per guest and reservations should be made in advance for seatings between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. · This one-night only, ticketed dining event will raise awareness and critical funds for the Anti-Defamation League, an international organization that fights all forms of antisemitism and bias.
In 2022, the U.S. witnessed an unprecedented surge in antisemitic incidents as a total of 3,697 assaults, harassment and vandalism were reported, marking a staggering 36 percent increase compared to the previous year. This alarming trend highlights the urgent need for greater awareness and action to combat hatred and prejudice towards the Jewish community.
