Life Science Cares is a collective effort of the local life sciences industry to reduce the impact of poverty in the San Diego community. Nearly 613,000 San Diego residents are living below the California poverty line and this is increasing due to COVID-19. Local Life Science Community aims to curb summertime hunger; donate 5,000+ pounds of food. Life Science Cares partners with Feeding San Diego to Unite the Life Science Industry to fight hunger Dozens of Employees Will Drop Off Food Donations at Feeding San Diego Headquarters, Learn About Food Insecurity Locally and Pack Food As thousands of students in San Diego County are preparing for the lazy days of summer, nearly 50% of them who rely on free or reduced-price meals provided in schools face food insecurity. Life Science Cares San Diego, an organization that activates the financial and human capital of the life science industry and partners with nonprofits to disrupt the cycle of poverty and inequality in our communities, is collaborating with Feeding San Diego and local life science companies in San Diego to make a difference for local children facing hunger.
