Description
645,000 poppies, part of USAA's Poppy Honor Wall, will be back on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for Memorial Day weekend. The wall stretches for 133 feet to honor the more than 645,000 American servicemembers who have given their lives in service to our country since WWI, creating stunning visuals in tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
And anyone in San Diego, or elsewhere, can help in the creation of a special portion of the wall by using the hashtag #PoppyInMemory.
You can upload a photo to Twitter or Instagram of a loved one who has served and sacrificed, and it will be included as part of a composite image of military member photos displayed across a background field of poppies.

On Memorial Day, the red poppy is a symbol of remembrance for those who died defending our freedom.
Behind each poppy is also the story of a life that was lived.
Parents and children. Spouses and partners. Siblings and friends.
United in service and sacrifice for something greater
