Brooke Marshall talked about the Miracle Babies organization, her experience and what the proceeds of the 5K go to.
Miracle Babies 15th Annual Superhero 5K
Sunday, May 7
7:00AM to 11:00AM
NTC Park at Liberty Station

· All attendees are encouraged to grab their superhero cape and mask and walk or run 3.1 miles to support families with hospitalized infants.
· Event includes a merchant and resource fair, food trucks, games, crafts, exotic cars, superheroes and more.
· The San Diego Blood Bank will be present as well for a blood drive from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
· Four-legged furry friends are encouraged to participate as “Paw Walkers”.
· For those unable to make the in-person event, there is also a virtual 5K open to everyone
Miracle Babies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is dedicated to helping perinatal mothers and their families during their time of need by providing transportation, mental health assistance and supportive services · Monthly Diaper Distribution Events - In response to the financial stress the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on families, they are hosting drive-thru diaper distributions for families in Southern California.
· Care Packages- Miracle Babies Care Bags are distributed monthly to NICU’s throughout Southern California, and quarterly at CHOC and UCI in Orange County.
· Miracle Hours- Miracle Hours provide a unique way of supporting parents with hospitalized newborns. Miracle Babies provides meals and crafts for the families in the hospital which allows them to come together to verbalize their concerns, seek peer support and validation all while making memories during their NICU stay.
· Transportation - Special Delivery shuttle vans provide free roundtrip transportation to moms with complicated pregnancies, babies with cardiac defects, and parents with an infant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
· Miracle Babies newest initiative, My Brain & My Baby, aims to support mothers suffering from perinatal anxiety or depression with early detection and acute medical care.
