Each 30-minute workshop incorporates delicious recipes with local, seasonal ingredients from Jimbo’s. The program is designed for little ones and their caregivers to participate and learn together about healthy snacks and treats to enjoy in their day-to-day life. On the second Friday of every month at 11:00 a.m., guests will create snacks that highlight the monthly theme of the Museum’s Daily Programs. The workshops provide a valuable opportunity for children to learn where their food comes from and how eating fresh, local produce can be fun and beneficial. “We are thrilled to bring back this fun and educational garden workshop for families! Through this unique partnership with Jimbo’s, we can feed the minds of our youngest learners and give them the brain power to succeed every day,” said Whitney Raser, Director of Education at San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. In addition to the workshop, children will be invited to explore the Museum’s Edible Garden for a first-hand look at how their favorite fruits and vegetables are grown. For many families living in urban settings, a garden can be difficult to manage with limited space. The Museum’s Edible Garden provides inspiration for families seeking to incorporate more produce into their diets while also introducing their children to the fundamentals of agriculture.
