December 1978 Journal was a 1978 series on various topics. They were in-depth, long form stories. Many of them are now News 8 Throwbacks. This is two parts of a three part series on the quality of life in San Diego. Part 3 will be posted soon. It was then the ninth largest city in the country and was growing rapidly. Housing units had tripled since 1950. Housing was in short supply and the average cost was nearly 88,000 dollars. Doug McAllister reports.
