Description

The Chula Vista City Council will meet again on Tuesday evening to discuss appointing someone to the currently open District 3 seat or hold a special election. The council will continue deliberation on 10 candidates to fill the open City Council seat resigned by Stephen Padilla when he was elected to the state Senate. If the council cannot make a decision on an appointment by Feb. 3, a special election will be held to fill the seat. The candidates are Nimpa Akana, Devonna Almagro, Griselda Delgado, David Diaz, Gian Ghio, Alonso Gonzalez, Victor Lopez, Daniel Rice (Vazquez), Sophia Rodriguez and Tanya Williams.
