A landmark movie theater in Pacific Beach will soon be getting a date with the wrecker’s ball to make way for a new post office. Hearing no objections, the state coastal commission has granted the postal service which now owns the theater…a demolition permit to begin work on the new facility. The move from the longtime branch on Garnet Avenue to the Roxy site on Cass Street was prompted by a landlord’s decision to convert the Garnet leasehold to commercial offices.
