Description
December 2, 1965
The 50-thousand-dollar James Bond super car was on display at the San Diego Sears store and attracted a lot of fans yesterday. This was the modified Aston Martin D-B-5 used by secret agent 007 in the movie Goldfinger. It will be used again in the newest Bond thriller called “Thunderball.” The super car has hydraulic bumpers that extend 18 inches to ram enemy vehicles; bullet-proof glass’ twin machine guns mounted behind parking lights and other refinements, strictly for the movies. Sears brought the car here for a one day showing to introduce its slot racing set modeled after the big car.
