Description
November 1993
Larry Himmel and photojournalist Brant Greenberg traveled across country to profile the enormous neighborhood of New York City. Larry attempted to bring a little San Diego sunshine to the Big Apple, but many were in a hurry and wouldn’t stop to talk to Mr. San Diego himself. But he somehow manages to stop Saturday Night Live actor Kevin Nealon, New York Governor Mario Cuomo, and San Diego police chief Jerry Sanders…not clear why he was there. Larry asked him if he would want to be the police chief of NYC and he said he was afraid to be a tourist there so wouldn’t like to be chief at all. He visited Central Park and compared it to Balboa Park.
