February 20, 1991 “When it comes to longtime favorite local restaurants, you’re looking at the granddaddy of them all” Unknown Eater Jim Blankinship said about iconic San Diego restaurant Hob Nob Hill. The same family that started it in 1944 were still running it in 1991. Owner Harold Hoersch credited the restaurant’s success with a little luck. Well, luck and carefully crafted recipes that make Hob Nob Hill stand the test of time. It’s still serving up delicious food in the same spot in Bankers Hill on 1st Avenue.
