City councilman Allen Hitch today issued a proclamation calling attention to the fact that next Thursday April 6th veterans will observe and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United States entry into World War 1. Mazie Carey, senior vice commander of Local Barracks 240, the largest in the United States, accepted the certificate from mayor Frank Curran. A colorful ceremony has been scheduled for one o’clock Thursday at the Organ Pavilion to mark the anniversary.
