Description
Joe Mazares, Arvin Aquino, Gemma Cabato and Matthew Padrigan talked about the festival and what attendees can expect.
So Sarap! presented by PASACAT Performing Arts Company, takes place on Saturday, October 15 from 10:00am – 9:00pm at Waterfront Park in beautiful downtown San Diego. This is the second year for a Filipino festival on the waterfront, last year drawing over 10,000 attendees. This is a free family friendly event open to the public.
Held during Filipino American History Month, the festival showcases traditional Philippine and contemporary Filipino American performances on the main stage, bringing together local performers, and regional artists from the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
We have over 20 savory and dessert food vendors, history and arts areas, and simulated activities like a Filipino village, Filipino tricycle, and even a coconut climb for children. For adults, we have our Beer & Spirits Garden with Filipino branded and Filipino inspired brews and cocktails. Proceeds go towards scholarship funds – Officer J.D. Deguzman and SDSU educator Rey Monzon.
