February 4, 1978 Today Solana Beach was the scene of the Jazzercise 100. It was exclusively for women and at that one certain group of them. The participants are all members of the North Coast YMCAs Jazzercise classes. They got together to attempt to break a record for a 100-mile relay with each runner completing one mile. And they were there to promote their method of exercise…a combination of jazz and disco movements choreographed in a manner that’s slimming them down.
