September 10, 1986 Navy Pilots Wanted—only 2 years of college needed. The ad was in the newspaper and attracted a lot of attention. Top Gun came out that summer and flying a jet was a very exciting prospect. Chris Saunders went to the Navy Recruiting District San Diego to get the details on the NAVCAD program.
