Description
October 16, 1981
Hal Clement report. The Hall of Champions and the Greater San Diego Sports Association honored Point Loma High School graduate Don Larsen on the 25th anniversary of his no-hitter in the World Series October 8, 1956. It was the 5th game--New York Yankees v Brooklyn Dodgers—27 Dodgers came up to the plate—27 Dodgers sat right back down. To this day it is still the only no hitter perfect game in a World Series game. But—another Point Loma High School grad—David Wells—pitched a no-hitter for the Yankees as well. Larsen played in the major leagues for 15 years.
