Description
Dominic Li Mandri, Catt Fields White and Lance Rogers talked about the festival. What people can expect, the entertainment and what makes it special.
Once known as the lemon capital of the world, Downtown Chula Vista will be completely transformed into a lemon-filled oasis for the 25th Annual Lemon Festival Presented by Grasshopper from 11am-6pm on Saturday, August 13
-The event will have entertainment including multiple local and national acts on 2 stages, with E.N. Young & Imperial Sound headlining the main stage
-The association will also be introducing “Tarty the Lemon” mascot, who will be stationed at the Lemon -Orchard photo-opp area (next to Mmm… Cakes)
-The kids area is re-introduced as Little Lemons kids area and will include giant inflatable attractions and interactive activities for kids
-They will also have chalk artists creating live lemon-themed masterpieces along the main walkway
-As well as a really cool interactive art project called “When Life Gives You Lemons…”. It’s a large 2D --Lemon tree where attendees can write inspirational messages on lemons to add to the tree
-There’s also going to be the Sun Burst Lemon Sculpture, which is a 6’ tall sun-shaped sculpture surfaced entirely out of citrus fruits!
-Lastly the event will have a lemon recipe cook off featuring some of our local businesses, with Mayor Mary Salas, the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Martha Lynch and local freelance culture and event Roxana Becerril
-As part of supporting our additional neighborhood events, the Third Avenue Village Market will also be on-site at the Lemon Festival raffling off a market basket and the winner will be announced at the market on Sunday.
-The table showcases some of the amazing things local vendors at the market have and what lemon goodies people can enjoy at the event
-It’s the first year the association is organizing the event under new management and they’re really elevating the family-friendly and dog-friendly, lemon-filled fest
-Downtown Chula Vista is such a tight knit community that we love to support, so it’s been an honor to be a part of the Downtown Chula Vista Block Party and now the Lemon Festival.
