Description
Alex Ferron from the Surfrider Foundation gave ways to minimize your environmental impact and how the Surfrider Foundation is helping to minimize waste.
Many are looking forward to the 4th of July holiday to celebrate with friends and family with outdoor barbeques and trips to the beach. But what if I told you that this wonderful holiday celebration has started to have a negative impact on our coastlines and environment?
The amount of trash, pollution and plastic left behind is a growing issue that not many realize can have detrimental impacts on our oceans and wildlife.
Gearing up for a busy holiday weekend, the Surfrider Foundation is working to prepare beach goers both before and after to help combat the anticipated plastic pollution.
In 2021, 15,864 volunteers removed nearly 170,000 pounds of trash and recycling from over 1,230 beach clean ups.
