July 4, 1976 San Diego Stadium Pageant The three-hour pageant included marching bands, color guards and musical groups. TV 8’s Tom Lawrence was pageant narrator. After the ceremonies, led by Grand Marshall Mayor Pete Wilson, an elaborate fireworks display lit up the sky. Bruce Woods orchestrated the pyrotechnic show.
