Description
It was Thanksgiving 1976 and TV 8’s Jim Gordon gave helpful tips to drivers on gas prices and what stations would be opened/closed for the holiday. At three gas stations in Ocean Beach, self service prices varied by about a penny, and a gallon of regular gas at the full-service station cost 4-5 cents more. 57 cents a gallon for unleaded regular self-serve—wouldn’t that be nice? In Clairemont, 76 station charged 57 cents for self and 64 cents for full service. Mobil and Shell stations in video and a shot of the full-service perk—windshield wiped. Jim ended his report in Five Points, an area in Mission Hills. It’s hard to see these prices now in 2022 when the average price is around 6 dollars a gallon.
