August 20, 1958 The stage has been set at the La Jolla Country Club for the opening of the 6th annual La Jolla invitational golf tournament…54-hole medal play, with 200 golfers competing for laurels. The tournament will wind up Sunday and Channel 8 will telecast the finish late Sunday afternoon. Mo Johnson, La Jolla club champ last year gets in some practice swings while club pro Paul Runyan and Lute Mason (TV 8 sportscaster) looks on.
