August 14, 1957 World famous comedian Jimmy Durante was honored in San Diego Wednesday at a noon luncheon sponsored by Al Bahr Shrine Temple. Local talent took part in the entertainment…and they were followed by Durante…wearing the usual crumpled hat…and just for the laughs, an unusual head of hair. Old time vaudeville star Eddie Jackson was there. Mayor Dail presented each with a key to the city…a big day for Durante and the San Diego Shriners
