June 12, 1977 El Cajon, California Young skateboard experts ranging in age from ten to eighteen showed off their talent and speed on the steep sides of the racing course. Some contestants thrilled bystanders with fancy turns and stunts…while others concentrated on keeping their time down. 18-year-old Dave Paul of El Cajon and 15-year-old Bob Shea of Pacific Beach came in with the best times in individual racing. They both won six hours of free skate time at the course…something they say they’ll really use.
