Description
In the late 1960s TV 8 had a series called Young America. On April 4, 1969, anchor/reporter Nicki Pierce filed this surfing report.
On Young America tonight, it’s the last day of Easter vacation for a lot of local and visiting beach children. So I trekked to Tourmaline Surfing Park in Pacific Beach to find a few wet surfers, a few waiting surfers and a few gazers. Nicki chatted with the surfers mostly about whether they thought the 60-degree water was too cold.
And that was the scene beachside today and I might add this reporter would like to have joined the gazers and stayed the day. On Monday a report from Roosevelt Junior High School on a proposed club to help curb narcotics and the resistance and apathy with which it’s been met. The Big News continues with Harold Keen and People in the News after this.
