Description
"Unfortunately, more than 80%, 90% of the animals are seized due to abuse," explains Stéphanie Lisicki. The Suzi Handicap shelter and care centre, which the 36-year-old former veterinary assistant founded with her family on nine hectares in Montreuil-au-Houlme (Orne department, northwestern France) 11 years ago, takes in and cares for non-wild animals that have been abused, disfigured, or even tortured. "We often hear people say here that we are a centre with only monsters. And I find that very hard because, for me, they are the most wonderful beings in the world," she confesses.
