Description
Fifteen years of planning, and soon, a reality: the Féeole wind farm in France's Brittany region (spanning the municipalities of Martigné-Ferchaud and Coësmes in Ille-et-Vilaine), is a €24 million project driven by local citizens with support from institutional partners. Set to go live in summer 2025, it stands out as a community-led initiative. "The advantage of a citizen-led project is that the people living near it are also co-investors," explains David Clausse, general director of the Ille-et-Vilaine energy union. Two of the four wind turbines, each towering nearly 180 meters, have already been installed. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
