Description
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says Senegal should take care of the “cleaning up” of public finances due to “high levels” of debt, as the West African nation awaits a possible resumption of an IMF aid programme which was suspended last year. "We really want to help Senegal to get out of the current situation it is facing. And I am sure that with these authorities, who are also determined to make the necessary and appropriate reforms, we will be able to succeed together," says Edward Gemayel, head of the IMF mission, during a visit to Dakar.
