Description
At least two domestic, indoor cats were infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in King and Snohomish counties after eating potentially contaminated food linked to other illnesses in Oregon.
One of the cats was euthanized due to the severity of the illness. The other is being treated by a veterinarian.
According to the Washington State Department of Agriculture, pet owners reported feeding the cats Wild Coast Raw food, which was identified as a possible source of bird flu infection earlier in February.
