Description
Police are searching for vandals accused of damaging and killing trees at a fish hatchery in Puyallup.
The vandals used chainsaws and axes on the trees, some of which are between 50 and 200 years old, according to a Feb. 11 social media post from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Police. In one instance, a 200-year-old Douglas fir was cut three-quarters of the way through and left ready to fall.
Several trees have been vandalized over the last year.
Removing the hazard trees is estimated to cost over $6,000, according to WDFW police
