Description
A lawsuit filed against the Tacoma Police Department claims officers failed to protect a domestic violence victim who asked for help and was later stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend.
The father of the victim filed the lawsuit because he said his daughter took all the right steps, requesting a no contact order and contacting police when her ex-boyfriend violated it, but said he doesn't think police did their part to protect her.
“She absolutely would still be alive today if police had intervened,” said Sam Daheim, one of the attorneys representing Gaylee Valente-Curcio’s family. "She was afraid she was going to be killed, she told them that, and they did nothing."
