Description
After two and a half years, the family of a 6-year-old girl killed by a drunk driver in Shelton said they're finally seeing some justice. The convicted drunk driver was sentenced to 21 years in prison.
The family of Taelor Valencia, who was killed in the crash, attended the sentencing for 40-year-old Matthew Galvin at the Mason County Courthouse on Tuesday. Galvin had previously pleaded guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
In July 2022, Akasha Garner was driving home from a camping trip with her three children in the car, when court records show Galvin crossed over the line in the road and crashed into the family's vehicle. His blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.
